Although closed sales were down 3.1% year-over-year in August, it’s important to acknowledge that we are now comparing 2021 to 2020, which was the hottest real estate sales year ever in Jacksonville’s history. So, only 3.1% less sales than last year, is still an incredible number.

There’s many speculating that real estate markets across the country are about to collapse like they did in 2008. Yet, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The fundamentals of the real estate market remain strong. Overall, there is no real estate market crash coming. And, frankly, I wish there was: so I could buy more real estate.

In my brief experience as an entrepreneur, I have come to notice a stark contrast between those who succeed and those who don't. I wanted to learn more about these differences, and define them, so I could figure out how to make better hiring decisions.

How the Wealthy Think, Live, and Act. While we had a deeper in-person meetup within Momentum, I am now sharing you the sparknotes version of what we learned and shared with our members.

First, I predict that part-time, low-producing agents – those who do maybe 4 transactions a year -- will eventually disappear. Commission compression, advancing technology, and the costs of obtaining and maintaining a license, will combine to convince those part-time, low-producing, average-or-below agents that the effort is not worth the shrinking reward. And, frankly, that is a good thing for the industry, since these agents often get in the way of a real estate transaction closing smoothly, rather than actually facilitating it.

One of the most powerful things you can do when you start a new venture, whether it be a new career, hobby, or health routine, is to find the right role model.

We all need at least one: someone who is deep into that pillar, who has accomplished what you are looking to accomplish, who inspires and instructs.
