Favorite Notes from Detroit GoBundance Event

Last week I had the great privilege of attending a GoBundance event in Detroit, Michigan. For those of you who don’t know, GoBundance is a mens networking group for net worth millionaires (check out The Tribe of Millionaires) - and there’s a GoBundance Women’s Tribe too!

I am super humbled from the readers of this newsletter as I had many come up to me at the event to let me know I should be sharing more often and that this content is valuable to them.

I didn’t realize how closely you are reading this, and appreciate your comments and feedback because I only stopped the frequent posting as I hadn’t received feedback. I am only focused on doing things that make an impact and make a difference.

My goal is to help create 10 millionaires through real estate in the next 5 years. My passion is helping others to achieve their version of financial freedom.

Here are some of my favorite notes and takeaways from the event! They’re in no particular order. Enjoy!

This post in no way constitutes financial or health advice, these are just notes from a conference.

Business Notes:

  • It's our job as patriarchs/matriarchs of the family to teach out family and others in our community how to work and live. This is your legacy. Everyone is watching everything you do. You lead by example. The goal is to get those around us the tools they need to live the best life that they can.

  • If you show up to anything and put zero in, you will get zero out. It all depends on you. This was a big one for me personally since I had a negative attitude going in to the last GoBundance event. Moving forward, I have decided I am going to go all-in on all events I attend. The value of the event is what I decided to make it.

  • We make up long-term frames to avoid doing what needs to get done. Shorten deadlines.

  • The more high performance you are, the more likely you are to hit a wall. Prepare in advance for this so you know how to get around it.

  • You know it's time to move on from the job/role when you feel sleepy about things you used to be excited about. When it stops being fun, move on (assuming you have finances good to go).

  • Having your finances in order allows you to quit trading time for money.

  • How do I not feel that I need to be productive to have worth? Many entrepreneurs struggle with this.

  • Failure question from Tony Robbins: what would you do if you couldn't fail? -> change to, what would you do if you did fail?

  • Writing daily, just keep writing and something will show up in it. Reflect.

  • Discipline & playing long-term, those are the qualities of winners. Too many are inconsistent / not disciplined. They never see a hockey stick effect.

  • Key business move: go to where there is less competition.

  • Don't go play the hard game, go find the right table to sit down at. (deca-millionaire poker player).

  • Game selection is more important than trying to become the best at the hardest table. Table selection is everything. Chase deals and protect downside.

  • Constantly reinvest yourself. Invest for the infinite game (long-term). Outlast the rest by being patient and disciplined.

  • "Give me time and I'll win any game"

  • Plant seeds everywhere. Over time it'll hit. Just be disciplined and keep planting.

  • Short term results don't mean s***, it's all about long-term.

  • Always have a good reputation and be a person of high character, that's how deals and people keep coming to you first. If you lose your reputation, you have nothing. Very hard to ever get back and word gets out fast.

  • You must be present to win. You cannot get value if you are not present and participating.

  • Leadership traits: 1) clear vision and purpose that is communicated, 2) cash and financial management (everyone in executive suite must know their numbers), 3) having the right people in the right seats, 4) having key relationships, 5) constantly learning.

  • If you don't have your financial house in order, it'll only get worse. This is true for all markets.

  • Do we have enough cash and liquidity and how do we scale with the resources that we have?

  • RoR = return on relationship. This is the best investment. Actively invest in your families, yourself, and your relationship. Those who don't, go backward or stay in place.

  • Dangerous people are the kindest people because they're the ones with the courage to go and solve big problems when no one else steps up. Be dangerous. People who are dangerous are the ones who do the hard stuff and make the biggest difference.

  • Have a stay rich stack and a play rich stack for investing.

Health Notes:

  • If you aren't investing your money, you need to at least invest in yourself. The most valuable asset we have isn't time, it's energy. Money buys other people's energy. Everything is return on energy, not return on investment.

  • True Dark Glasses - 40-70% blue blocking, really helps stress on eyes, sleep cycle. Use blue blockers at night.

  • SleepwithDave.com <-- website of Dave Asprey on sleep recommendations

  • Caffeine is the best treatment for migraines (think Excedrin, it's basically just caffeine). Low blood sugar causes migraines.

  • MSG in food - some restaurants use this knowingly, unknowingly, makes you crave sugar/drinks, increases the average bill size by 30% more. No regulation.

  • It's often a blood sugar issue when you wake up form 1-4pm. Caused by over fasting or not eating enough. Do this: take a tablespoon of raw honey before bed, collagen also helps, Mct oil (doesn't break a fast).

  • Vegan makes you feel good for 6 weeks, and after that, you get tired, could start losing hair.

  • 75 hard is BS, it's just overtraining, it's bad for you. And you don’t give your body time to recover. Just go to the rep that will build muscle and then stop go back to baseline, and start again.

  • Sleep quality is one of the first things to go when you're doing it wrong.

  • Sleep is 1/3 of the equation, timing of eating is 1/4 of the equation, and 1/5 is not eating stuff that you're sensitive to (blood sugar monitor).

  • Dairy proteins and wheat proteins are generally the worst.

  • Intermittent fasting (works) does the same thing as Metformin.

  • Stem cell therapy works very well.

  • Big pharma will always say that vitamins don't work, because they don't make money off of them. The minute they can make money off of them, they’ll say they work.

  • Many coffees have mold in them (no regulation in United States), bulletproof coffee or danger coffee solves this problem. Mold makes people sick.

  • Red light therapy works. Can buy True Light - $350 red light that is easy to transport.

  • Stop wasting energy. It's the most valuable resource. Goal is to become better at making energy.

  • Access, Monitor, Upgrade, Repeat

  • Sleep - 6.5 hours a night minimum, continuous glucose monitoring (figure out what you're sensitive to), 8 hours of sleep maximum --> healthy people need less sleep.

  • NAD drip once per quarter.

  • Eat protein within 30 minutes of working out

  • Resistance bands are more effective than weights.

  • Constantly measure.
