Top 5 Traits Of Top Producers

(Originally posted on 1/26/2020)

Everyone who desires to succeed at a high level needs the right environment to support their goals.

This week I sat down with nearly 20 high-producing agents, and as I reflect back upon our conversations, I see a strong commonality among them all. They are all growth-oriented; they want to be, do, and accomplish more, with the ultimate goal of being in the position to give back to a community or cause that is important to them. And every one of them is actively searching for an environment that will support those objectives.

Environment can mean a lot of things. These agents clearly seek an atmosphere of positive attitude and desire for growth. But, because they realize that they also have to be very good at what they do, that environment should also offer the opportunity to learn valuable skills from other top performers, to align with people who know how to do what you want to do at a very high level. It’s about finding their tribe.

My wife, Brittany, and I have hired master-level coaches to help us grow, and we have attended conferences all over the country where we got to know top producers. We came to understand their mindsets, their systems, the reasons they built their systems the way they did, and the results they achieved. Ultimately, we learned how these highest achieving professionals chose to use their time:

#1. They are very specific about who they spend time with. They stay out of petty dramas, and surround themselves with others who also have big dreams and big causes.

#2. They continue to grow their skills. They constantly upgrade their skills by attending conferences, reading books, and trying new ways of doing things.

#3. They are willing to change. There is always something to improve upon, and these top producers are committed to the positive outcome, not the process used to get there. They are willing to change their systems and processes if they are confident that change will create a better outcome.

#4. They work with urgency. They make quick, but calculated decisions, and implement systems and processes immediately. They don’t wait for permission, they just go, and align themselves with others who work at the same pace.

#5. They are not afraid to fail or take chances. They are willing to put their money where their mouth is, and understand that failure is how we grow. They are open to discussing what they failed at and why.

We at Momentum Realty share those mindsets. We are creating an environment that supports and nurtures top producers who want growth, from improving customer service to expanding their financial success in ways – such as investing in real estate — that they may not have previously considered. We are building a tribe of passionate, like-minded entrepreneurs who have fun together, drive results together, and are there to support each other. We are inspired and excited about what this means for our customers, our associates, and the people and causes that they love.
