Momentum’s growth, from 2 agents in late January to 65+ in July -– and, most importantly, with no agents having left — raises a question we often hear: why are so many Top Agents moving to Momentum?

We Show Them the Money

Momentum knows its focus on financial transparency has become a bit of a hot topic in the local real estate brokerage community. Frankly, in the United States as a whole, talking about financials is often viewed as taboo. But Momentum dives right into them, deconstructing the various commission models under which Momentum and other brokerages operate, and shining a light on them. That examination isn’t always comfortable, especially for brokerages, teams, and agents using the traditional commission model. But that’s a good thing; Momentum wants agents to be uncomfortable, because that's how they grow.

The reality is, an agent is a profit center for a brokerage, and the amount of that profit differs greatly with different brokerage models. Only when an agent runs the essential numbers — especially how much of their profit goes to the brokerage and how much to them — do they understand whether the brokerage model fits their goals. Honestly, when Momentum reviews those numbers with prospective agents from traditional brokerages, they often gasp. Literally. The amount of hard-earned cash that most agents leave with those brokerages is astounding.

Momentum’s founders were agents in the field and, over several years, figured out how to make their money work for them to achieve financial success. For example, Momentum’s founders built their net worth by investing in residential real estate, and have shared the lessons they learned with Momentum agents, many of whom had never before considered investing in the product they sell daily. Momentum is thrilled that, already, one of its agent associates has used that information to strategically invest in a residential rental, and begin building their own passive income and net worth.

Since Momentum is selective about which agents it will work with, seeking only talented, passionate, positive-minded agents with a customer-first focus, the tribe we have built has a powerful enthusiasm and energy that is infectious to other members. We have a no-drama policy, and a commitment to transparency with our agent business partners.

To create efficiency and energy, Momentum holds meetings – all optional – only on topics relevant to the agents, and we are strict about starting and ending on time. We refuse to have boring “fluff” meetings, so our agents tend to engage and listen carefully in the meetings we do offer. Many of our topics address change, recognizing that while change can be disruptive, it's necessary for growth, a topic that is of great interest to Momentum agents.  

Additionally, our agents are excited to be joining us on the ground floor, recognizing that Momentum is essentially a disrupter underdog with a big vision and mission to fulfill: changing the service level of real estate agents in Florida. So, while Momentum’s energy and transparency has created a healthy, exciting, and fun competition among our agents, their pride about being part of this bigger mission has led them to encourage each other to max out what they've done before, and to go even further.
