Named criticism gets a right of reply. Any story that criticizes a named brokerage, builder, association or company includes a documented request for comment with a real deadline. We publish what they say, or that they declined, and we never write "did not respond" unless a genuine request was made with adequate time.
We report facts, not characterizations, about named parties. We can report that an association filed a specific assessment, because the record says so. We do not report that an association is mismanaged, because that is an opinion dressed as a fact.
