The Golden Mindset & Results Formula
One key difference between those who succeed in a changing market environment and those who don't is their mindset. You must not let the outer world dictate your inner world. You must have the will to remain focused and block out the noise. We call this: The Golden Mindset.
Yes, it's easy to get sucked into the stories we tell ourselves, stories from other agents, noise from the news, etc. yet the sobering reality is that this market is one of the best ever with the most opportunity available. In fact, this may be one of the best markets ever for an agent with skill and work ethic to pick up a massive amount of market share. It starts with mindset.
To achieve The Golden Mindset, a mindset that is unshakable regardless of what is going on around you, you want to start with extreme focus on the variables that matter to you and your business. Frankly, there are likely less than three variables that really move the needle for you and your business. That's it. First, identify what your key variables are, write them down, and keep them front of mind on a daily basis. Anything else is a distraction.
The Results Formula
Your results are equal to your potential minus interference.
Results = Potential - Interference
The Results Formula shows that if you want to increase your results, then you must minimize your interference and/or increase your potential.
Minimizing Interference.
When you reduce your interference, you increase your ability to concentrate. When you see results from your concentration, you feel growth. When you grow, you feel happy, and it becomes a self-fulfilling cycle. When you are growing and happy, you are going to have a massive year of results, and this has nothing to do with what is going on outside of you. You've minimized the external factors - which allows your growth. This is why it's so important to protect yourself from the noise, and instead build a story and vision for yourself.
You can become anything you want, in any market, assuming you do the work and stay focused, by minimizing your interference.
Increasing Potential.
Now the other side of the equation to increase your results is increasing your potential. What is your self-identity and how do you increase your potential? See, as a kid we naturally use our imagination to create fantasies of the future for ourselves. These visions increased our potential. Yet, as an adult, we rarely have these big visions, but we should, especially as the noise gets louder.
My challenge for you is to fantasize about your perfect life. Your perfect business. What does it look like? Write it down, then write it down every day. As you focus on your fantasy life, you'll notice that you start thinking and acting differently - and the outside world matters less and less. This is because you've seen a higher potential for yourself. A future self that over time becomes your self-identity.
Ultimately, by visualizing your potential, you raise your own lid.
Another way to increase your potential is to purposefully put yourself around a group of people who think bigger and achieve more than you. Being around big thinkers and big action takers will cause you to start thinking and acting like them, either subconsciously or consciously. We call this The Influence Effect.
Your Next Steps
So, get to work! Block out the external noise and cast your personal vision. Find people who are ahead of you and think bigger than you and spend time with them. Time is limited.
