Amy’s Story Continued-
Amy returned to Florida and resettled in the Jacksonville area. After several years working as a nanny/house manager, Amy returned to real estate in 2017, joining a Jacksonville office of KW. From July 2018 to November 2019, Amy was the Director of Career Development for KW in Fleming Island, training the new agents who were onboarding with her Fleming Island brokerage. As a new agent Trainer/Mentor, she taught all of the new agent classes, and was on the staff that helped them write their contracts. Amy, who is a licensed Broker Associate, joined Momentum in February 2020; her business is roughly 2/3 buyers, including many from out-of-town.
Amy has a passion for rescue animals, and she operated a rescue program for dog moms and their puppies from November 2013 to September 2014. She and her husband now own five rescue dogs. In her free time, Amy writes adult, young adult, and children’s fiction. She also likes to crochet, read, and walk the beach or nature trails. Amy is on the Prayer Team at her church.
We asked Amy about her goals and skills as a Momentum Cultural Ambassador Mentor:
Why do you want to be a Cultural Ambassador Mentor?
I love to see other people reach their goals and do things they did not think they could, and to know I had a part in that. I like that even more than I like reaching my own goals. To know that I am having a positive effect on another family....there’s no feeling like it.
What do you believe is the main value you offer as a Mentor?
This isn't a new role for me. I know how to get them where they need to be because I have done it before.
What are your guiding principles as a Mentor?
Not everyone's goal or speed is the same. Find their goal and go their speed. And yet, they need to move forward and jump out of the boat. I am also big on doing what you say you are going to do. Meaning, if I say I will do something, I will do it -- and I expect the same from them.
What are your goals as a Mentor?
To get each of my Mentees into production as quickly as possible, while not neglecting their home life or their health.
Any other information you think a potential Mentee would like to know about you?
I truly value family time and having an appropriate budget in place. Besides making sure your schedule includes all the work things, I will also put a priority on your health and family.
