Brittany Brooks grew up in Northern Virginia and studied accounting at Virginia Tech because an accounting professor told her she was good at it. She was. But what you're good at and what fulfills you aren't always the same thing — a lesson she learned quickly at Ernst & Young in Washington, D.C., where she worked 12-hour days, shared a sunroom-converted-bedroom with two roommates, and still had no savings after a year of competitive salary.
In 2014, she packed her 1996 Isuzu Rodeo and drove to Jacksonville with Jon. She transferred to the Jax office of her accounting firm, then moved to an investment bank doing M&A work in FinTech and healthcare — work she genuinely loved. When Jon asked her to leave it and join his real estate team, she said no. Then no again. Then she read the job description for the buyer's agent role he was hiring for and realized it was written about her.
She joined in July 2017. In 2018 — her first full year in real estate — she personally helped 65 families buy homes. The same year she found out she was pregnant with Evelyn. When Momentum Realty launched in January 2020, Brittany became its broker of record, the licensed backbone of everything the brokerage does. She has personally trained hundreds of agents through conferences, classes, and webinars. She is not a figurehead. She runs the brokerage.
