The Jacksonville Business Journal has featured Momentum Realty in a story on how we built a brokerage across Northeast Florida: "Former investment bankers build Jacksonville brokerage to nearly 280+ agents with 100% commission model."
Reported by Leah Foreman, the piece tells the story most people told us would never happen. Two former investment bankers, a financial model everyone said was too affordable to survive, and a steady stream of skeptics who predicted failure. Six years later, nearly 280+ agents have built their businesses on a model that lets them keep what they earn.
"A Jacksonville real estate brokerage defied skeptics who predicted failure and has grown to nearly 300 people in six years."
The short version of the story
When Brittany and I started Momentum, we had four agents and a simple goal: help good people build better real estate businesses. We had learned the hard way what actually creates leverage in this business, and we wanted to pass it on. Almost everyone told us not to do it.
Today, Momentum Realty is Northeast Florida's largest independent brokerage, with roughly 295 agents who have closed more than $3.5 billion in sales and served thousands of families. We are a RealTrends-verified Top 50 brokerage in Florida. The model we were told would never work is the reason it worked.
Why the model works
100% commission. A single $12,000 annual cap. No monthly fees, desk fees, or franchise fees. When you pair that structure with real training, community, and accountability, agents win, and they stay. That is the whole story, and it is the part the skeptics never priced in.
