The city issued a building permit in March 2026 for Community First Credit Union to renovate the long-vacant former Edgewood Bakery at 1012 Edgewood Avenue South, with an approved project cost near $3.5 million. Plans call for renovating roughly 4,628 square feet and adding drive-thru lanes, an outdoor plaza, a front lawn, a community room, and an on-site food truck.
