What is planned at the Seminole Towne Center site?
WKMG (ClickOrlando) reported on October 29, 2026 that Ardent Companies plans to redevelop the Seminole Towne Center mall property in Sanford with a Costco as the anchor of a renewed shopping center. The store could open as early as the end of 2027. About 300 multifamily units are planned across the street from the proposed Costco. Dillard's and Dick's Sporting Goods could remain, and more retail could be added. The demolition process was still being finalized when the story ran. The report did not describe a final city or county approval.
For housing, the plan adds rental units, not for-sale homes, and its effect on nearby for-sale listings is not yet measurable. What can be measured is the market around it today.

Limitations
Figures are a single live map snapshot taken November 4, 2026, not monthly totals, and can differ from inventory counts in monthly reports. City follows the listing's mailing city, which can extend past city limits. Pending or under contract combines both MLS statuses; our Stellar map feed can undercount pending listings, which would raise every ratio, though comparisons between cities use the same feed on both sides. New construction follows the MLS flag. Days on market is the listing's current count and may reset on relisting. The Costco and apartment plans are as reported by WKMG and may change.
