Cassia at Skye Ranch is a gated, all ages single-family village built by Taylor Morrison inside the Skye Ranch master plan, at the intersection of Clark Road and Lorraine Road in Sarasota, about three miles east of I-75 (Taylor Morrison, 2025). Skye Ranch spans more than 1,000 acres and folds in lakes, hundreds of acres of preserve, and a large trail network.
The master plan was honored as the 2023 Master-Planned Community of the Year by the Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association, and it carries a deep amenity program anchored by The Hub, with a resort-style pool and spa, a fitness center, and a climbing wall, plus parks, sports courts, and miles of trails. Cassia itself is adding The Cove, an additional pool with a waterslide and a lazy river (Taylor Morrison blog, 2025).
A defining feature is education close to home. The new K-8 Skye Ranch School opened in August 2025 inside the community, the first new traditional public school in Sarasota County in fifteen years, and the 2024 rezoning assigned students living in the area to it (Your Observer, 2024). Always confirm the zoned schools for the exact address, since assignment is by address and can change.
The honest read on a new build here is the total cost, not the base price. Cassia carries an HOA and a CDD assessment on the tax bill that funds the master plan's infrastructure and amenities, so the work is reading the lot premium, the option list, the builder incentive, and the full carrying cost, then weighing the resale picture as the master plan continues to build out.
