Community Details at a Glance
Oakland Park is a traditional neighborhood development of roughly 258 acres on the south shore of Lake Apopka, straddling the Town of Oakland and Winter Garden. Its plan is modeled on early twentieth-century small towns, with homes set close to the street, alleys, front porches, and a walkable grid, in a mix of Colonial Revival, Victorian, Craftsman, Spanish Colonial, and Florida Vernacular architecture. Homes are built to Florida Green Building Coalition standards, and the community is organized around open space rather than golf: parks, a community garden, pocket lakes including Lake Brim, and trails, with a clubhouse and zero-entry pool at its center. The West Orange Trail runs through historic Oakland alongside the neighborhood, and the nearby Oakland Nature Preserve offers a pavilion overlooking Lake Apopka.
